Maundy Thursday’s coffee morning, Thursday 2nd April, will include the raffle of a simnel cake, made by Myra, and the Solva Craft group’s Easter Table Top sale: all proceeds to the Defibrillator fund, Easter bonnets welcome, decorative rather than competitive!

ON 16th APRIL we shall be celebrating 10 years of the weekly coffee morning and mini library. In addition to special cakes and general goodwill the Solva Craft Group will hold a second Table Top Sale with a Springtime theme. Proceeds and donations that day will also go to the Defibrillator Fund.

In the 10 years since the Hall renovation in 2005, 2642 books have been borrowed and 26,000 plus beverages consumed (no figures available for the number of cakes and biscuits!). Although the aim was not to raise money, thanks to the generosity and kindness of all those who attend we have raised in excess of £5,000. Causes such as Shalom House, Ty Hafan and Wales Air Ambulance have benefited. We have also been able to contribute towards the ongoing upkeep of the hall.

Just to remind everyone that, as well as the variety of books, we have knitting patterns and needles, jigsaws, DVD’s, CD’s and tapes which are available and free to borrow.

Thanks go to the teams and those who join us each Thursday.
