SAVE YSGOL DEWI SANT 6th FORM
After the surprise U-turn by PCC to save YDS (but to close its 6th form), campaigners are now redoubling their efforts and have formed a new steering group.
St Davids Schools for the future has already drawn up a vision for 21st century education in rural Pembrokeshire. Reminder: you only have between St Davids Day and May Day to have your say. Please visit the SAVE YDS facebook page for details.
Cllr David Lloyd, chairman of the YDS board of governors, reported that he has had assurances from senior church figures that they would support a move towards YDS becoming a Church in Wales voluntary aided (VA) school. He added that a 3 -19 model was the most viable option for rural areas, as shown by examples of such schools in Ceredigion.

Following on from a meeting on Friday 6th February regarding Solva car park,
the PCNPA response was: “It was resolved that Solva Community Council
would manage the Lower Solva car park for 2015 subject to the revision of the
terms of the management agreement. Members asked for a report on progress
to be provided to an extraordinary NPA in early March.” This may be a
breathing space, but the fight goes on, more updates to follow…

Solva WI held a very successful Pancake Day event at the Memorial Hall on Shrove Tuesday. Thank you to all those who supported it. A magnificent £400 was raised! All proceeds will go towards purchasing Public Access Defibrillators for the village.
