Edge Festival Fund Raising

The Edge Festival annual round of fundraising commences on Friday 13 October with a “Fright Night”
at Solva Memorial Hall. We are celebrating all that is scary with a superb meal of beetle blood soup and
mad dogs’ teeth (roast beetroot and garlic); witches toad in the hole with pimped pumpkin; murdered mess to finish. Once again there will be hilarious games with a Friday 13 theme. Phone Ifor 07971038643 or see Josh at the Harbour Inn for tickets at £15 per head.
The Edge committee is allocating funds generated this year, with an innovative suggestion to award a bursary to a young person attempting something out of the ordinary. Do you know of any candidates? Monies already donated include the: Porth Mawr Lifesavers, St Johns Ambulance, The Army Benevolent Fund and the Solva AFC.

Singing for Grenfell Tower Children’s Holiday at Treginnis Farm – Update

Many of the Solva Singing for Fun group made t he journey to Letterston on 16 September. Why? To raise money for the October Treginnis Farm holiday for the children of Grenfell Tower. The rain hammered down that evening and yet spirits were not dampened.
The evening was a huge success, as some eighty SfF-ers raised the roof for the “muck and magic” activity holiday. The result? We’re still counting, but have already raised £1800 from this one-hour free concert. Yes, that’s right – £1800! – Latest News: The Singing for Fun Concert has now raised £2139 for the Grenfell Tower visit. This cause has obviously touched a major Pembrokeshire artery!
Thanks and congratulations to everyone who supported this extra ordinary concert.
And we’re rehearsing on Monday evenings 7 – 8.30 pm in Solva Memorial Hall, if anyone would like to join us. Free taster session. SingingforFun.co.uk
