Open birthday invitation:
Our mother, Solva’s oldest resident Betty Temple, will soon be celebrating her 100th birthday. As a family, we are delighted to invite anyone who knows her – from Solva or St Davids – to come along to her open house party. This will take place on her birthday, Wednesday 5 December, at The Harbour Inn, Solva from 3pm onwards.
Buffet tea and refreshments will be served. All we want is for her is to be surrounded by her family and friends on this day of celebration. So please come along and make the day special for her.
No need to let us know if you can make it, just turn up. More the merrier! Best wishes from Penny Williams, Mark Temple and Patty Pellegrini.

Solva WI

Our meeting on 11 October was well attended and very light-hearted. The business was covered quickly – the main points being village events we are taking part in over the next two months. We will be baking in the Hall on Saturday 10 November for the evening “Street Party” using a recipe book from that era and we look forward to the evening entertainment commemorating the end of WW1. On Thursday 22 November we have a bottle stall and Christmas crafts & gifts for sale at the Church Christmas Fayre in the Hall. Items gratefully received at our next meeting or please give to any member.
Following the business we made a Christmas decoration which was organised by Mary Haughton and gave us a chance to chat too! We will also be taking part in the Christmas Tree Festival in St Aidans Church on 1 & 2 December.
Our next meeting is the AGM on Thursday 8 November starting at 1pm with a soup lunch (£3).
