Edge Festival – 2,3,4 August 2019

We are now in the run up to the Fifth Edge Festival. The bands have been booked, as have the writers and workshop providers. It will be the biggest festival to date on 2,3,4 August. Tickets are going well and more food outlets have asked to have an opportunity to feed our festival goers with everything from beefy burgers to
vegan delights with wood fired pizza in between.
Our star act has been nominated for the best Tribute act in the UK and for the first time the bands will perform in front of a 5m wide video screen.
The community makes this festival, no-one reaps any personal benefit, all the profits go into deserving projects and towards supporting the ambitions of our young people. We thank all our personal and commercial sponsors, if you want to make a donation let us know. If you want to volunteer for any of the numerous tasks which range from collecting car park money to guarding the gate, again, please let us know: phone Ifor on 079710 38643. There is no payment for working as a volunteer at the festival but the rewards are immense!

The committee have worked hard over the winter months to produce a new programme for the Solva Regatta that offers something for everyone. It is now a “Community Regatta”. Please come along on Sunday 11 August, to Trinity Quay, Solva and enter or watch the new and exciting Solva Regatta.

Mosaic group

The outside of the Hall has been transformed by beautiful mosaic panels and a lick of paint in toning colours. Thanks to all who have made this fantastic transformation possible – with mosaics under the inspirational
teaching of Maddie and Penny. Now the trough has been planted with flowers we will soon hold a celebration to mark this latest achievement by our growing number of local mosaic artists. Look out for that date. Due to popular demand mosaic classes are to become a regular fixture in the calendar of Solva. All welcome to put forward ideas for the next project by contacting Sue: 07817 410782 or Penny: 01437 720901.
