PCC has had a few calls recently regarding “Rogue Traders” in the St Davids area whereby an elderly, vulnerable lady has been charged an exorbitant amount of money for sub-standard work and other persons have raised concerns about “pushy” cold-callers who have been very intimidating.

Please can I bring this to your attention and ask that you report matters like this to us immediately with relevant details of vehicles and descriptions of persons so that we can attempt to gain identification. We are liaising with Trading Standards from PCC and have attached the advice given to us for your perusal, please also visit the ‘Ask Cedric’ website for further advice and good information. If you have elderly neighbours or family we would ask that you make them aware of this in order to prevent further sad situations. Contact Jenny Tree, Fair Trading Inspector, PCC on 01437 776601 or PCSO 8123 Naomi Harrison on 101.

     Dyfed Powys Police advise:

  • ? Fitting a chain on the door – and always use it.
  • ? Make sure the caller is genuine, ask to see identification.
  • ? Do not let anyone into your home that you do not know or until you are completely satisfied that they are who they say they are.

Report any suspicious activity by phoning 101.
