Edge Festival 6 Nations Fund Raiser Night

40 friends and inhabitants of Solva gathered to celebrate the end of the 6 Nations season by feasting on a six course dinner hosted by the Edge Festival fund raising committee. This was the third in our series of pop-up dinners and many who attended thought it was the best. The venue was changed to the Ship as Clare’s Cafe is now open for business after the winter.
The larger space allowed us to play the inaugural game of  Convert That Answer©™ a rugby based quiz requiring no knowledge of rugby but an ability to kick a very small ball out of an egg cup over a miniature set of rugby posts!

The Scottish table won convincingly!
King of the Kitchen Josh Phillips masterminded the meal of six courses from the six nations, the piece de resistance being the plate sized Yorkshire pudding. He was supported by Gill and Clare on French patisseries, Josh Bland on washing up and Sian and Tash in charge of delivery.
Prizes ranged from a Fortnum and Mason hamper (yes, you read that correctly) to one which fell apart on presentation!
More precious funds flowed into the festival coffers and we have now banked over £2000. Many thanks to all who attended and made it such a fun night.
The next fund raiser will be a Chinese night at the Royal George on Friday 1st  May – just the way to kick off the Bank Holiday weekend. Join us for some more excellent food and some very unusual entertainment.
