Friday Club:
Week 1 – Autumn term began with Tom Thumb’s magic performance. Tom enthralled, enraptured and bewildered us all, mesmerizing even the most diligent of observers, who failed to discern how, through skilful techniques and superb performance Tom managed to fox us. Tom also serenaded us on piano during the break after we had all signed a card wishing both he and Lou “Bon Voyage” for their imminent sail around the world.
Helen’s yoga and gentle movement transported us to a lovely relaxing world of peace and tranquility, at the same giving us the opportunity to exercise our body and help retain suppleness of movement.
Week 2 – Once more the Solva Pirates provided a concoction of songs, soloists and audience participatory tunes that actively encouraged rhythmic, collaborative and memory recall, as well as creating great fun. Helen’s Gentle movement/yoga sessions, now featuring every Friday Club second-half session, helped swell numbers of clients, performers, volunteers and helpers to 28.
Forthcoming Friday Clubs: Ceri’s Craft, and Brenda and Fran’s Drama sessions followed by Helen’s Gentle movement sessions are programmed for the last two weeks of September. Helen will continue with half sessions until the end of term.
October begins on 4th with the Solva Ukulele Pirates. On 11 Oct, Fran and Carol-Ann will reminisce and on 18 Oct we welcome the return of Judy, inspiring us with her spirited, energetic and theatrical story telling. Once again Rosita will entertain us with her guitar on 25 October.
Solva’s Friday Club welcomes everyone so please join us every Friday from 2pm – 4pm at Solva Memorial Hall.
