The June meeting was as short and concise as we could make it, as it is the month when we go out to visit a garden. Ten members had enjoyed a visit with plenty of refreshments, a walk and plant-buying at the Penrallt Garden at Moylegrove on a lovely day in May and some members took part in the Defibrillator Update Training. Two teams of
members have now taken part in the Pembrokeshire Federation Quiz at the Picton Centre and four members were exhausted after doing the Car Treasure Hunt in the North of the county!
Jilly Missen had enjoyed being an adviser at the ‘Look after yourself’ day at Crundale Hall and urged members to attend next year as there was plenty of interesting and useful information on offer. All members had received a copy of the excellent report from Barbara Biebrach who was our representative at the NFWI Annual meeting held in Cardiff. The only resolution, ‘Mental Health Matters’ was passed with 98% in favour.
Once again we will be participating in the ‘Scarecrow’ Competition in August and members were urged to help. The meeting ended at 2.45 pm which gave us enough time to drive to the DaisyBus Garden, where we appreciated the different planting in the 14 beds and then enjoyed tea and delicious cake and lots of chat. The Book Club met on Friday 29 June and the Walking Group continues to meet on Monday afternoons. Our next meeting will be on Thursday 12 July in Llanunwas Walled Garden with kind permission of Penny & Mike Williams. Members will receive
notification of what they will need to bring.
