The organisation for Solva’s first summer festival
is going well.

On the Sports side, Man-up are
organising the 2.5 mile open water swim around
Greenscar and Andrew Phillips is running the football
tournament with Simon Davies.
On the Arts side, Meic Stevens has agreed to play a set as a
curtain riser to the outdoor showing of Under Milk Wood.
There will be a battle of local bands and Jon Gower, writer and
broadcaster, will be delivering the key note lecture “Welsh
Writing on the Edge”. Writers Pete Finch and Grahame Davies
plus other local writers will also be performing their works.
Matt Ricketts will be demonstrating sea food cookery on the
quay and National Parks will lead a couple of events including a
walk up Solva river.
The recent fund raising events have been very successful,
thank you to all who attended. Future events include a Murder
at the Vicarage! Plus other activities in Solva Memorial Hall and
another fund raiser supper in March. Thanks for all the support.
